Fun is Fun
Apparently now that people know I have a blog, I'm supposed to update it regularly with my witty (ha ha!) commentaries on any and everything remotely related to paragliding. Damn, I've set a precedent!
Last night was the 2007 Paragliding World Championships fundraiser for the Canadian team at Schanks. Keith McCollough, Nicole McLearn and Will Gadd will be representing our great nation in Australia next month. The fundraiser turned out to be a great success with a lot of money raised for a very worthy cause!
I ended up drinking far more than anticipated, but ended up having a great time...I certainly didn't expect to go to the Whiskey afterwards, and then Denny's at 3:30 am. Ha ha, even though I had to work at 9:00 am this morning, it was SO worth it!
Man, it's so crazy that my trip to the Dominican is just around the corner. It's cool because it feels like I've barely settled since Lanzarote, and already a new adventure is right around the corner. I could really get used to cutting the winter so short every year...I can totally see myself becoming a snowbird at 23.
I saw some crazy footage on TV of people skydiving today. These chutes had a crazy decent rate, and the dudes flying them would skim their feet across the water at an insane speed, and then land on a beach. My guess is that they were flying some competition gliders or something - man did it ever look fun as hell!!! So, my resolution for the summer is to jump out of a plane again at least once - ooooh, I feel the rush setting in already! And no, I'm not a traitor...I don't think I could ever love skydiving the way I do paragliding. But man, skydiving is a pretty damn cool sport.
Other than that, my life is exciting, but has sort of developed a pattern as of late; work, party, work, party, read, procrastinate, work again. For the most part life is good right now, but man, it'll kick some major ass once flying season rolls in again.
Can't wait until I visit a new land in 2 weeks. Yay!
