Big Bugs and the Potential for Kangaroos
It's pouring outside which works for me because I woke up sicker than yesterday. But before a thunderstorm hit this afternoon, I found a cicada on the ground and took this picture:

Apparently cicadas come out every 7 years and make this absolutly deafning sound as they rub their wings together in the masses. They borrow underground (I think) and bats like to feast on their insides. Yum yum!
So, so far no snakes or icky spikers, only giant bugs.
Across the road is a big field and at dawn and dusk kangaroos can be seen. I can't wait to see one in the wild!

That is one freaky looking bug!
Yep, plenty of 'roos around - and if you keep your eyes open you have a good chance of seeing wombats also!
Wow... two blog updates in two days... that's gotta be a first. lol
Cool looking bug though. We don't get anything that cool in Canada... well, not in Frozen Calgary anyway. :)
